Probus is a social club for fully or partially retired professional and business men living in and around Chipstead. The main activity is the monthly lunch at Chipstead Golf Club, preceded by drinks from the bar. The atmosphere is informal and there are no requirements regarding attendance. Twice a year there is a slightly more formal Ladies Lunch at which partners and other female guests are welcome. There is also a monthly programme of country walks, each ending with a pub lunch, and there are a number of daytime sightseeing excursions or visits to a theatre or concert hall. Partners and guests are nearly always welcome to come to these too.
We have around 65 members. There is a modest entrance fee and very reasonable annual subscription. For full details of Club membership and activities please contact the Secretary:

The Arts Society Chipstead covers Chipstead and the surrounding areas. The society is a member of The Arts Society, an organisation whose aim is to promote the appreciation and study of the decorative and fine arts and to assist in the preservation of our national artistic heritage for the benefit of the public.
The Society meets on the first Wednesday of the month (except July and August) in the Banstead Community Hall for coffee at 9.50 am followed by a lecture at 10.30 on varying subjects of the arts. In addition to our monthly meetings, outings are arranged to historic houses, art galleries and museums. Also group holidays of four or five days are arranged once or twice a year. The Young Arts section aims to encourage 5-18year olds locally to develop an interest in the arts. Events are arranged to further this aim.
