Proposed tree planting sites around Chipstead

The CIL funds allocated in 2019 for tree planting will finally see the first 4 trees planted this autumn. The location of these trees is now available on Google Maps

Please copy the link below to see an interactive map of tree planting locations. The trees are proposed to be a mixture of Lime, Mountain Ash (Rowan) and Cherry.

The locations at How Green and Church Green have been approved by Reigate and Banstead, the rest are subject to approval from highways at Surrey County Council.

4 trees in 3 years. I hope this project has nothing to do with climate change; if it were, we should have planted 4,000. The pity is that Chipstead has so little common land, - and the little that exists is subject to hobby groups grubbing out what nature proposes and fencing-in sheep that chew up the oaks which are trying to spread.
