Retirement developer McCarthy Stone, has donated a life-saving defibrillator to Woodmansterne Primary School along with £150 donation for the school library, after children at the school produced a gallery of art works to brighten-up the hoardings on the site of the new Goldfinch House Retirement Living development on Outwood Lane in Chipstead.

The newly installed Automated External Defibrillator will be easily accessible in the event of anyone entering cardiac arrest – whether they are at the school on Carshalton Road or living in the local community. For every minute the heart stops, the brain is starved of oxygen; and efficient use of a defibrillator can quickly restart the heart through applying a high energy electric shock.
