CHIPSTEAD VILLAGE FLOWER SHOW AND FAIR - Message from the Chairman - February 2021

It is with regret that the committee of the Chipstead Village Flower Show and Fair have had to make the decision to cancel the show scheduled for 17^thJuly 2021, due the continued coronavirus outbreaks.

We had hoped that this year we would be in a position to run a full Show. Unfortunately, with the continued uncertainties about the future, with other strains of Covid-19 appearing, and no idea when current restrictions will be lifted, the difficulties of keeping everyone safe will prove impossible.

We also have to safeguard the Show’s financial position, as many deposits would now be due, and commitments and contracts made.

Important parts of our Show are the Children’s Sections, and much of the entertainment.  With the unfortunate closures of schools, we feel that when schools do re-open, children’s and teachers’ time will be better spent with education, without other distractions.

Should the situation improve in terms of the number of people allowed to gather together and more immunisation, we will be exploring the possibility of holding a smaller event either in the late summer or the early autumn.  We will keep you updated!
