17/00385/OUT - Demolition of No. 224 to provide a new access road to rear and on the land and the land to the rear of 226 to 230 Chipstead Way Woodmansterne the erection of 1 x 3 bedroom house and 5 x 4 bedroom houses. Provision of associated parking and new landscaping.

Objections submitted in support of Woodmansterne to oppose this garden grabbing, cramped development proposal that is out of keeping with the area and has a poor transition to the Green Belt.

APP/L3625/W/17/3168151 - 16/01562/F – Ash Meadow Bridge Way Chipstead – Appeal on refusal for erection of a dwelling and associated parking, alterations to the existing dwelling.

This is the second appeal on this site based on a revised application that was refused planning permission.  Objections have been submitted to the appeal on highways safety grounds.  Decision on this second appeal is due on 5 May.

At the same time, following the result of the first appeal being a split decision and concluding that development would be traffic neutral, another planning application has been submitted for development on the site.

17/00645/F – Ash Meadow Bridge Way Chipstead – Demolition of existing office building and erection of a dwelling, garage and associated parking, alterations to the existing dwelling.

Objections will be submitted on the grounds of inappropriate development and highways safety.

17/00268/F -  Norwood Walpole Avenue Chipstead Coulsdon Surrey CR5 3PQ - Demolish existing bungalow and erect a detached two storey dwelling house and detached garage  

Objections submitted on the type of development, its impact on neighbour amenity and lack of appropriate transition to the Green Belt.  Awaiting decision. 

17/00214/HHOLD -  Ravello Coulsdon Lane Chipstead Surrey CR5 3QH - Proposed two storey side extension to reconfigure and extend the ground floor and first floors, to provide for an increased level of accommodation, in the form of a Master Suite at first floor level and extended laundry and separate Golf Practice Room/Games Room, at ground floor level.

16/02912/OUT – Ashleigh High Road Chipstead – Demolition of 4 bed house single storey dwelling and erection of 6 x 2 bed block of maisonettes with associated parking for 6 cars 


16/02887/F -  26 Chipstead Station Parade Chipstead Surrey CR5 3TF - 2 storey rear extension to provide conversion of existing basement into 2 bedroom flat, extension of existing office and existing kitchen to flat.  


16/03016/HHOLD -  2 Mead Cottages Outwood Lane Chipstead Surrey CR5 3NG - A two storey extension at the rear of the house, between the existing rear wall and the side return. A single storey porch and extended lounge at the front of the house following the conversion of an integral garage.

Refused on grounds that it would detract from the character of the dwelling and be detrimental to the character of the area, unacceptably affecting the amenity of neighbouring properties. 

16/01562/F – Ash Meadow Bridge Way Chipstead – Erection of an additional dwelling and associated parking, alterations to the existing dwelling. 

Appeal split decision. The Inspector concluded that development would be traffic neutral but that the design was unacceptable.

16/00780/OUT/AP – Ashleigh High Road Chipstead – Appeal to remove condition 6 of planning permission 16/00780 granted in May/June for demolition of existing dwelling and replacement with detached 5-bed dwelling.

Appeal in progress – awaiting decision.

Condition 6 covers access and visibility zones and requires that before the new dwelling can be occupied the vehicle access has to be constructed with the required and approved visibility spans and that these must be kept permanently clear of obstruction so that the development does not prejudice highway safety.  The appeal is seeking to remove this condition as the appellant considers it unnecessary.

16/01147/HHOLD – Lancston Hazelwood Lane Chipsteadproposal to erect wooden electric gates on the property.  The application is being reconsidered following additional information being submitted on 15 September.

Subject to Highways comments, no objections. Awaiting decision.
